Framework for Technology Services
It is important to think purposefully in the meaningful ways in which technology supports 21st century learners. The Technology Department will work to ensure that educational technology and technology infrastructure will align to support the success of all students. The framework will serve as a roadmap for the Technology Department to guide technology decision making taking place throughout the district.
The Outer Circle
The outer areas of the circle – Collaboration, Infrastructure, Student Learning, Professional Development – inform how each area of focus is reliant on one another so that technology supports the learning process in a well-rounded and successful manner. The arrows in between the areas of focus represent how the different areas must work together in order to create sustainability and efficacy.
Rationale
Ultimately, educators are employing technology in their unique and respective workspaces to support their learners. However, today’s successful technology leaders recognize the varied components of supporting teachers with educational technology best practices. No longer can technology leaders only focus on the wires and settings aspects of technology, they must also consider long- & short-term professional development learning opportunities (PD) for staff, collaborating with larger groups like intermediate school districts and other professional working groups that support educational technology, and relationship building with teachers and administrators. This graphic represents the ways in which technology can and should focus on the students.
